PITTSBURGH -- The ACC, the home conference of the Pitt Panthers, is doing some planning ahead this week as they establish neutral site venues for many of their coming championships over the coming years.

Over the next five seasons, Pitt and the rest of the ACC will meet in North Carolina for the ACC men's basketball tournament. The 2025, 2026  and 2028 tournaments will be played at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina and the 2027 and 2029 tournaments will return to the Greensboro Coliseum, where last year's tournament was held.

27 different ACC men's basketball tournaments have been held at the Greensboro Coliseum, including five of the 10 Pitt has played in. The venue has shifted to multiple different arenas over the years, from the then-Verizon Center in Washington, D.C. to the Barclays Center in Brooklyn and back to Greensboro. The 2019 tournament was held at the Spectrum Center.

Pitt is intimately familiar with the Greensboro Coliseum after spending most of the postseason there last March. Not only did they play two games there in the ACC Tournament, but they also returned to play two NCAA Tournament games there as well. The Panthers went 2-2 in those games, with wins over Georgia Tech and Iowa State and losses to Duke and Xavier.
