Pitt's Bub Carrington Wins Another Weekly ACC Honor

Pitt Panthers guard Bub Carrington is has been the most decorated freshman in the ACC this season.

PITTSBURGH -- Pitt Panthers star freshman Bub Carrington is running up the score on his fellow ACC freshman this season as he earns another weekly honor from the conference.

Carrington has been named ACC Rookie of the Week for the fifth time this season, breaking a tie with Notre Dame's Markus Burton for the most Rookie of the Week awards won this season by a single player.

Carrington averaged 17.5 points, 5 rebounds and 5.5 assists to just 2.5 turnovers per game over two wins against N.C. State and Florida State to close out the regular season. He shot 48% from the field and 33% from 3-point range over that same span. Carrington has found his stroke from distance lately, knocking down 16 of 33 3-point attempts (48%) over his last five games.

Pitt has now claimed six Rookie of the Week awards in all this season, with Jaland Lowe earning the honors back in mid-January.
