Pitt Lands in Very Early NCAA Tournament Prediction

In this story:
PITTSBURGH -- We're closer to the last NCAA Tournament than we are to the next one but the Pitt Panthers have already started generating buzz about what is in store for them next season.
National college basketball analyst Andy Katz believes the Panthers are in a prime position to return to the Big Dance and mark consecutive trips to the postseason's most prestigious tournament for the first time since 2013-2014. Katz has Pitt pegged as a nine seed in the Midwest Region in his first 2024 NCAA Tournament predictions.

If that prediction holds, Pitt would meet old Big East foe Providence - the eight seed - in the first round at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana. It would mark a step forward for the Panthers, who snuck into March Madness as an 11 seed relegated to the First Four in Dayton, Ohio.
Nevertheless, Pitt won a tight contest at UD Arena in Dayton over Mississippi State before marching on to Greensboro, North Carolina, where they toppled six seed Iowa State before falling by double-digits to three seed Xavier.
