Former Pitt Guard Jared Wilson-Frame Signs with Canadian Pro Team

One of the best Panther shooters in recent history will play for the Ottawa BlackJacks of the CEBL.

PITTSBURGH -- During his time as a Pitt Panther, Jared Wilson-Frame was one of the best shooters in recent history. After graduating in 2019, he began pursuing a career in professional basketball. Now, with three years of experience under his belt, Wilson-Frame is headed to Canada to play in the Canadian Elite Basketball League, a four-year old summer league that features primarily Canadian players.

Wilson-Frame signed with the Ottawa BlackJacks of the CEBL, a team that finished sixth of seven teams last season. The league has since expanded and will feature 10 teams during the coming season.

Since finishing his college career, Wilson-Frame has played in the NBA's G-League and the LNBP, the top-tier men’s professional basketball league in Mexico. He also spent the 2019-20 season with Limburg United of the BNXT League in Belgium, where he averaged 16.2 points over 13 appearances.

Wilson-Frame played two years for Pitt under Kevin Stallings and Jeff Capel after spending two years at the junior college level with Northwest Florida State, a NJCAA powerhouse. For the Panthers, he averaged 13 points and four rebounds per game while shooting 36% from 3-point territory. He appeared in 64 games, started 40 and played nearly 30 minutes per contest.

He finished the 2017-18 season ranked first among Pitt players in points per game (13.0), free throw percentage (82.9 percent) and three-point field goals (74).
