The national championship matchup is set. No. 1 seeds Purdue and UConn will meet at State Farm Stadium on Monday night to compete for college basketball's top prize. It should be an incredibly fun matchup, as both teams have been among the two best in the sport for a majority of the 2023-24 season.

Purdue defeated North Carolina State 63-50 in the first game of the Final Four on Saturday to advance to the championship game. UConn then took down Alabama 86-72 in the nightcap.

All five of UConn's starters scored in double figures during Saturday night's win over Alabama. The Huskies were led by Stephon Castle, who scored 21 points in the victory. Donovan Clingan added 18 while Alex Karaban and Cam Spencer each pitched in 14. UConn also got 12 points from Tristen Newton.

Saturday's semifinal came between the Huskies and Crimson Tide was hard fought through most of the game. UConn was able to pull away in the last two minutes, getting huge buckets from Clingan, Newton and Spencer down the stretch.

The final score did not indicate how tight the game was from start to finish.

In the first game, Purdue got another dominant performance from star center Zach Edey. The 7-foot-4 senior scored 20 points, grabbed 12 rebounds, dished out four assists and blocked two shots as Purdue advanced to the championship game for the first time since 1969.

UConn ended the season ranked No. 1 in the Associated Press Poll while Purdue rounded out the regular season ranked No. 3. It sets up a championship game between two of the sport's top teams.

So get your popcorn ready, basketball fans. We should be in store for a great game on Monday night in Phoenix.
