GG Jackson Set To Make NBA Summer League Debut

A week and a half ago, GG Jackson realized a lifelong dream as far as his basketball career was concerned, as he was drafted by the Memphis Grizzlies in the 2nd round of the 2023 NBA Draft. While his draft night slide upset Gamecock fans who watched him play this past college basketball season, nothing that's happened to Jackson up to this point truly matters because he's now on equal footing with every other rookie in his draft class as far as NBA experience is concerned.

The 18-year-old, however, is about to get his first taste of professional basketball on Monday night when he and the Memphis Grizzlies Summer League team take on the Philadelphia 76ers' Summer League team. The NBA Summer League is a league that provides an opportunity for incoming rookies to adjust to the NBA game, build chemistry with their future teammates and receive teaching from some of their future coaches. For GG Jackson, it'll be his first chance to prove to NBA teams that they misjudged the value he could bring to a franchise.

Jackson will wear the No. 45 jersey in tonight's contest and will play alongside seven other rookie players on the Grizzlies Summer League team, looking to make his first mark against NBA-caliber players.
