Former Gamecock PJ Dozier Finds Home

Former South Carolina guard P.J. Dozier will return to the Sacramento Kings for the remainder of the season after making a couple of 10-day contracts with the Kings after averaging 18.0 PPG and 8.7 RPG for the Lowa Wolves of the NBA G League.
It’s great to see Dozier back on an NBA team. He found himself in a good role in Denver as a 6th man who was starting to show why he was a McDonald’s all-American out of high school but suffered a torn ACL back in 2021 after a good start to the season, keeping him out for the whole year.
That would lead to Denver trading P.J. to Boston, who ended up trading him and Bol Bol to Orlando, where he was cut the next day and spent the rest of the 2021–22 season rehabbing his injury.
P.J. will come into a team that is currently 3rd in the Western Conference, and that has been on a hot streak, winning the last 3 of 4 games with two months left in the NBA season.
This would be the first time the Sacramento Kings have played in the playoffs since 2006. The hope is that Dozier can find that same role that he had with Denver and use his playoff experience with them to help the Kings.
