Chris Silva and the College Park Skyhawks, the Atlanta Hawks G-League affiliate team, welcomed in the NBA's premiere G-League team, NBA G-League Ignite on Wednesday night for the first game of a back-to-back matchup. Coming into the miniseries only one game back from qualifying for the G-League playoffs, Silva and his Skyhawk teammates understood the importance of game one. They sent a message by winning the game convincingly 131-105.

Silva contributed 7 points and 13 rebounds in the victory, while also making it challenging for the opposing big man, Erik Mika, widely considered one of the best all-around big men in the G-League, evidenced by the fact that he's tied the G-League Ignite record of 12 double-doubles in one season.

Silva is also no stranger to setting records himself, as according to a release by the Skyhawks, he's the third player in NBA G League history to tally at least 33/15/3/3 in a game. His play against the Boston native might not have even been fully captured by the stat sheet, something that College Park head coach Steve Gansey hinted at after the game.

"Chris is our enforcer in there - and does a lot of things that don't show up on the stat sheet," said Gansey. "He [affects] the game for us, and it's great to have him back."

A pivotal game two between Chris Silva's College Park Skyhawks and the NBA G-League Ignite will be played later tonight at 7 pm eastern time and will be available on Peachtree TV.
