Former Gamecock Seventh Woods Agrees To Pro Contract

Former internet sensation and South Carolina basketball guard, Seventh Woods, has inked a deal with a professional team in Ireland.

Despite enduring a college career that likely didn't go the way he wanted, Seventh Woods, known for the exceptional athleticism he displayed throughout his high school career, had secured a professional opportunity in Ireland. Woods was ranked a 5-star shooting guard in the 2016 class from the Hammond School in Columbia, SC. He went viral at the age of 14 for his mixtape by Hoopmixtape back in 2013 and has reached 16 million views to date, making it one of the most viewed mixtapes of all time, and many consider it one of the best to be put out.

After narrowing down his recruitment to South Carolina and North Carolina in 2016, Seventh picked the Tar Heels. In 2017, as a freshman at North Carolina, he came off the bench for the Tar Heels, helping the team to a 33-7 record and ending the 2017 season as a national champion after the Tar Heels beat Gonzaga, the team that unfortunately defeated the Gamecocks in the Final Four that same tournament.

Seventh would spend three years in North Carolina before returning home in 2019 for his senior year. Due to transfer rules, he sat out the 2019–20 season. He played for the Gamecocks in the 2020–21 season during COVID, putting up career-high numbers of 5.4 points, 2.1 assists, 1.0 rebounds, and 0.9 steals per game. Off the court, he ended that year with a degree from the University of South Carolina.

The following offseason, Seventh transferred to and finished his college career at Morgan State, using his extra year of eligibility due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. Since then, Woods hadn't had a basketball home, until this weekend, when the former Gamecock agreed to terms with the UCC Demons, a pro team in Ireland that competes in the Super League. This contract with the Demons will be the first pro basketball opportunity for Seventh Woods, giving him a chance to extend his basketball career.
