How To Watch SEC Tournament, Semifinals: 1-Seed South Carolina Vs. 5-Seed Tennessee

South Carolina's women's basketball is set for a rare third matchup against a conference foe, one's that arguably been their toughest challenger this season.

If you're someone who likes to see storied programs in a particular sport battle it out, you'll be like a kid in a candy store tomorrow afternoon, as for the third time this season, Dawn Staley and the South Carolina Gamecocks will square off against the Tennessee Lady Volunteers. Neither team has something significant like a No. 1-seed or Tournament bid riding on this game, but that doesn't mean Carolina can rest on their laurels, based on how they played on Friday against Texas A&M and also how tough the Volunteers have played the Gamecocks this season.

In their previous two meetings, South Carolina won by 11 and 8 points, respectively, but Tennessee certainly didn't go away quietly, going into the 4th quarter of their first matchup tied with the Gamecocks and cutting Carolina's 4th quarter lead in the second contest down to as low as three points. The reasons for Dawn's team struggling to put away the Lady Volunteers in their battles this season have varied from below-average perimeter shooting to a lack of contributions from several key players. Both areas will have to be shored up to ensure a victory tomorrow afternoon.

One key advantage that South Carolina will have this time around is a slight rest advantage, as this will be Tennessee's third game in three days, which is typically the point in a conference tournament where a team begins to feel the full effects of the wear and tear a high volume of games in a short timespan can bring. However, the Gamecocks will still have to make sure they account for star forward Rickea Jackson, who's averaging 24 points on 43.9 percent shooting from the floor against Carolina this season.
