LOOK: Hayden Hurst Catches First TD As A Carolina Panther

It's opening weekend across the NFL, meaning every football fan in America is getting a full weekend slate of games to choose from. For South Carolina Gamecock fans, it also means they get a chance to watch a plethora of former stars who are now living out their dreams of playing at the highest level the sport offers.
One of those former stars is tight end Hayden Hurst, a former first-round pick of the Baltimore Ravens who's now playing for the Carolina Panthers. Hurst was an important offseason addition for the Panthers because Carolina drafted quarterback Bryce Young with the No. 1 overall pick back in April, effectively making him the future face of the franchise.
Every young quarterback needs a veteran tight end to rely on as a safety valve, and Hurst is doing that so far in the Panthers' first regular season game against the Atlanta Falcons. With around five minutes remaining in the first half, Hurst ran a quick flat route to the boundary off a play-action concept, and Bryce Young found him, completing the quick pass for Hurst's first receiving touchdown with the Panthers and Young's first touchdown pass of his NFL career.
