Shane Beamer Provides Injury Update On Nick E., Juice Wells, Others

Shane Beamer met with the media on Tuesday afternoon and provided the latest regarding injuries suffered by several key South Carolina Football players.

This past Saturday night, North Carolina physically imposed their will on South Carolina on both sides of the football. In a way, there wasn't anything more indicative of that than the final game injury report. Several Gamecocks wound up exiting the game and did not return, including multiple key starters on both sides of the ball.

At his weekly Tuesday press conference this afternoon, Beamer spoke to the media about where each of those guys are at in terms of their ability to play on Saturday against Furman, and the majority of the injury news wasn't exactly positive,"

"I would say that Markee Anderson is doubtful this week. I would say that Nick Emmanwori is doubtful this week. [Jatius] Geer is doubtful this week. David Spaulding is doubtful this week. Cason Henry is out this week, and everybody else practiced today and should be good to go."

On the bright side, players like Juice Wells and Ahmarean Brown practiced today and will be playing against Furman on Saturday. The injuries suffered by Cason Henry and Markee Anderson, on the other hand, make an offensive line group that's already filled with questions and doesn't possess as much depth even more unstable, something that Beamer admitted is problematic in terms of continuing to try and find the best starting lineup with the o-line.

"With Cason's injury, that forces you to change some things personnel-wise. With Markee being out, that forces you to change some things, and it's been tough because it's been hard continuity-wise just to get a solid five," Shane explained. "Cason was a guy that was hurt at the beginning of preseason, and then he practiced the last however many couple of weeks or whatever, and now he's hurt again. So it's just tough [because] you're trying to build continuity across the five, and that part's been tough."
