South Carolina - Georgia Kickoff Time Announced

South Carolina's Football team will be facing off against the defending national champs, the Georgia Bulldogs, on CBS this upcoming Fall.

As we near the start of the 2023 college football season, we are beginning to learn details about the upcoming season and game times. CBS Sports, who will cease to air SEC games on their channel after this upcoming season, has released the dates and times of two SEC games for this upcoming season.

In addition to the matchup between Georgia and Floria being announced as a CBS game, CBS Sports released the kickoff time details for the contest between South Carolina and Georgia. The Gamecocks will face off against the back-to-back defending national champions on September 17th at 3:30 p.m. EST as the SEC on CBS Game of the Week.

This will be the 76th matchup between the two teams, making it one of the longest-running rivalries in college football. The Bulldogs have won the last three matchups, but South Carolina has proven they can upset the Bulldogs, pulling off the seemingly impossible feat back in 2019 between the hedges. The game is just in the first few weeks of the season, meaning a lot of teams will still be trying to adjust to the new season.

Considering the loads of talent that left Georgia this off-season, including quarterback Stetson Bennett, defensive tackle Jalen Carter, and edge rusher Nolan Smith, Georgia's new starters may take a while to gel with the rest of their returners early on. It will also be Georgia's first real test of the season when looking at who they play in weeks one and two, so the Gamecocks, while likely massive underdogs, shouldn't be entirely written off in this week three affair.
