Demello Jones Narrows Recruiting

More good news continues to roll in for the Gamecocks surrounding the 2024 recruiting class, as one of the top ATHs in the country has narrowed his recruiting down to ten schools, leaving South Carolina in the mix. Hailing from Swainsboro, Georgia, Demello Jones has emerged as one of the nation's best athletic handymen from the class of 2024.

This past season, Jones played snaps at QB, WR, and CB. Jones amasses over 1200 yards and 20 touchdowns on the ground, with another 382 yards and seven touchdowns through the air as a receiver. He was also responsible for 44 tackles and six pass breakups. Jones is an all-around superstar on the football field, as can be seen through his impressive concoction of junior-year stats.

Though Jones does it all on the football field, he is a three-sport athlete at his high school. Jones is a guard for the basketball team and averaged nine and a half points, and four and a half rebounds a game as a sophomore. He also runs track for his high school, serving as the anchor for the gold-medal winning team at Georgia's state meet in the 4x100 event. Additionally, as a sophomore, Jones placed seventh in the 100-meter dash with times as fast as 11.17.

The versatile athlete has narrowed his recruiting to just ten schools, with SEC schools Georgia, Vanderbilt, Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, and South Carolina making the cut. North Carolina, Notre Dame, Miami, and Ohio State comprise the rest of the list. Many are expecting Jones will commit to Georgia over the aforementioned schools..
