INTEL: Prospects Who'll Be In Town For South Carolina's Cookout Event

Later today, Shane Beamer and the Gamecocks will host a cookout event for elite football recruits, mainly from the current and upcoming recruiting classes, something they have done for the last three years. Coach Beamer and his staff have so far gotten many big-name recruits to plan to visit Columbia at the end of the month to attend the event; some will even make their college decision weeks after this event occurs.

A couple of targets will be making decisions not long after the cookout takes place, like Jalewis Solomon, who will be making his college decision on August 5th. Solomon is also expected to visit Auburn this same weekend,
South Carolina is also expecting five-star Edge Dylan Stewart to also be in town for the cookout. Stewart is currently planning to make his decision around the end of the Summer, so a visit like this would be huge for the Gamecocks, as the Ohio State Buckeyes are still fighting right alongside them for the 5-star's eventual pledge. With this visit, it could be the last dagger needed for the Gamecocks to close on the momentum they have with Dylan at the moment.
Outside of the 2024 guys, the most notable visitor out of this group is Elijah Griffin. Ranked the No. 2 overall recruit in the country for the 2025 class according to On3's Industry Rankings, Griffin will be making his fifth overall visit to Columbia, which leads every other team involved in this race. The home-state Georgia Bulldogs, of course, loom large here, especially considering their recent team success and track record of development on the defensive line. Travian Robertson, however, has done a great job of taking over the reins as the primary recruiter for the Gamecocks and has South Carolina right in the thick of things as we sit here today.
