On Friday evening, one of the top prospects in the country for the 2024 class, Dylan Stewart, narrowed his recruitment down to five schools, one of them being the South Carolina Gamecocks.

The other schools that Stewart is still considering are the Ohio State Buckeyes, Georgia Bulldogs, Miami Hurricanes, and the home-state Maryland Terrapins. The 6-foot-5, 230 pound edge rusher is very disruptive with how he fires off the ball, but also possesses the ability to quickly redirect laterally on a dime. Combined with his exceptional leverage, and Dylan is seen consistently knocking opposing offensive linemen off balance when looking at his high school tape.

Another combination of traits that makes Dylan Stewart a nightmarish matchup for opposing linemen is his overall body dexterity paired with his size. His 81-inch wingspan plus his lower center of gravity allows him to seamlessly dips and bends around the edge.

Stewart is currently on an official visit to South Carolina, which based on his final group could very likely be the last one he takes in his recruitment. This could wind up being a significant deal for the Gamecocks, as Dylan told On3's Chad Simmons in an interview regarding his top group that he "[plans] to commit sometime before the season."
