2025 5-star DL Elijah Griffin Set To Make Return Visit To South Carolina

Shane Beamer and South Carolina's Football team are in the game for several national-level prospects from the 2025 class, and one of those prospects is set to be in town on Saturday night. Five-Star DL Elijah Griffin will be in Columbia this Saturday to watch the Gamecocks take on the Furman Paladins, as On3 sports reporter Wes Mitchell first reported. Elijah is ranked as the No. 2 overall prospect in both On3 sports and 247Sports 2025 prospect rankings.

This will be Griffin's sixth time visiting the Gamecocks, given that they have had two more visits than Georgia, which has had him on campus four times. Clemson, Florida State, UCF, and Alabama have all had him on campus at least once.

South Carolina and Georgia seem to be the top contenders battling for Elijah's commitment. Georgia offered him first in 2020, but the Gamecocks, who came in with an offer in 2022, have made him their top priority from day one, helping them get into this recruitment with a team like Georgia. At this time, On3's Recruiting Prediction Machine gives South Carolina a 38.1 percent chance to land Griffin compared to Georgia’s 26.8 percent.

Needless to say, another huge recruiting week is on the books for South Carolina, and the Gamecocks will be able to show these recruits the full-on experience of a Williams Brice Stadium.
