Where Will Jonathan Paylor Commit?

South Carolina's football program has had some dynamic offensive weapons come through its doors over the past decade, with the two that stick out the most being Pharoh Cooper and Deebo Samuel. Despite playing under two different coaching staffs, both prospects thrived as Gamecocks, becoming legitimate threats in the running game, passing game, and on special teams. They both wound up eventually being drafted and have since become Pro Bowlers in the NFL.
North Carolina native and 2024 wide receiver prospect Jonathan Paylor could potentially be that kind of weapon at the collegiate level. Having received offers from schools like Georgia, Alabama, LSU, Ohio State, Penn State, Texas A&M, Tennessee, Florida, Clemson, and several other Power 5 programs. At the end of the process, however, two schools stuck out the most to the 5-foot-9, 170-pound wideout: NC State and South Carolina.
The Wolfpack have hosted Paylor an astonishing eleven times throughout his recruitment, including a visit for their cookout this past weekend, while the Gamecocks hosted Jonathan on three different occasions. Despite being named the leaders countless times in 2023 and being the perceived leader at the end of June, the Wolfpack have suddenly made up a lot of ground in this recruitment, and Paylor going to Raleigh last weekend instead of Columbia could serve as proof of the swing in momentum.
Due to their close proximity and the groundswell of positive rumblings from the Wolfpack beat, we're gonna align with the industry consensus and say NC State wins out in this recruiting battle.
Final Prediction: NC State
