BREAKING: Gamecock Target Keylen Adams Announces His Decision

Justin Stepp, Shane Beamer, and South Carolina's Football staff made a massive Summer push for 2024 wide receiver Keylen Adams, who also heard from some of the Gamecock's biggest recruiters in their 2024 class in wideout Mazeo Bennett, quarterback Dante Reno, and offensive lineman Kam Pringle.
Unfortunately for the Gamecocks, their efforts weren't enough, at least for the time being, as Adams announced his commitment to the Virginia Tech Hokies on Thursday afternoon. This means that South Carolina still has only one wide receiver commit for the 2024 class in Bennett, although they're heavily in the game for North Carolina wideout Jonathan Paylor, who's set to make his final decision by the end of the month.
I will personally say this, while South Carolina didn't win on Thursday, I don't expect this staff to let up at all in this recruitment. The Gamecocks never got their chance to host Adams for an official visit and essentially roll out the red carpet for the Ohio native like the Hokies and Alabama Crimson Tide did. Comparing South Carolina to Virginia Tech right now, while everyone can see the general direction the Gamecocks are going long-term, nobody is sure where the Hokies are heading both on the field and in their own conference. Bottom line, I don't expect Beamer and this staff to wave the white flag and move on here, and I think their efforts could carry out all the way to signing day.
