BREAKING: Four-star DB Jalewis Solomon Announces Decision

The Gamecocks' recruiting momentum had picked up steam thanks to pledges from 2024 athlete Zy'Marion Lang, five-star edge rusher Dylan Stewart, and 2026 quarterback Landon Duckworth. That momentum unfortunately didn't carryover into late Saturday afternoon, as 2024 four-star defensive back Jalewis Solomon committed to Auburn over the Gamecocks, Florida State, Kentucky, and Texas A&M Jalewis also had big-time offers from Georgia, Alabama, and Ohio State.
While the Gamecocks have lost our on the rising senior from Georgia, they still have a good defensive back class with four-star safety Kelvin Hunter, four-star cornerback Braydon Lee, and three-star safety David Bucey all in the fold. Solomon helped his team achieve a 12-3 record and win the Peach State Class A Division II title this past Fall alongside his brother Zayden Walker, who is currently ranked as the No.1 LB in the class of 2025. Walker is still a priority recruit for the Gamecocks, as I imagine Shane Beamer and the Gamecocks won't give up on recruiting his older brother Solomon throughout the Fall.
