LOOK: 2025 Ohio St. Commit Jontae Gilbert Spotted Wearing Gamecock Shirt

South Carolina Football target and 2025 cornerback Jontae Gilbert was spotted sporting some Gamecock attire at a recent seven-on-seven event.

Torrian Gray has quickly developed a reputation in Columbia as one of the best developers of defensive back talent in all of college football. His best examples so far at South Carolina have been molding players like former walk-on Jaylan Foster into a Walter Camp All-American, former wide receiver Darius Rush into a 5th round NFL Draft pick at cornerback, and 2022 signees Nick Emmanwori and DQ Smith into freshmen All-Americans.

This has led to recruits taking note of the Gamecocks, including 2025 five-star defensive back Jontae Gilbert. The unique part about Gilbert's recruitment is the fact that he's been committed to Ohio State since late July of last Summer, but that hasn't stopped other schools from pursuing him, including South Carolina. Jontae has already visited Columbia on two separate occasions this year, once back on April 1st and again for the Spring game.

It appears that the interest between Gilbert and the program has grown significantly over time, as Jontae was photographed wearing a South Carolina shirt during a seven-on-seven tournament on Friday.

While the Gamecocks are the only school currently going after Jontae, it's pretty apparent that the rising junior thinks very highly of Torrian Gray, Shane Beamer, and South Carolina's Football program.
