Landon Duckworth Sets Visit Date with the Gamecocks

2026 quarterback Landon Duckworth, who recently received an offer from South Carolina's Football program, has setup a return visit with the team.

There's no position in football that requires more attention than quarterback. Coaches scout years into the future for their next gun-slinger, which is what it takes to find the right talent at the most critical position in football. The Gamecocks have already begun their search for their quarterback in the classes of 2025 and 2026 and have cornered a new target.

Just last week, 2026 QB Landon Duckworth announced on his Twitter that South Carolina had extended an offer to him. Though he is currently wrapping up his first year of high school, Duckworth has already become a highly-coveted target in the class of 2026. With South Carolina throwing their hat in the ring and offering the young signal-caller, the Gamecocks join teams like TCU, Mississippi State, Arkansas, and plenty more in the Duckworth sweepstakes.

Although Duckworth only recently announced his newly acquired offer from South Carolina, the two parties have been in contact for a while. Duckworth first made a trip to Columbia for the Gamecocks' Spring game in April and has now finalized a date for a return visit. Duckworth will be back in Columbia on July 28th for his second visit with the team.

The Gamecocks aren't the only team vying for a visit from Duckworth this Summer, as Duckworth is also trying to line up visits with SEC counterparts like LSU, Alabama, and Tennessee. This is no surprise, as Duckworth has already emerged as one of the top QBs in his class.

In this recruitment, one important thing to look at is the relationship between Offensive Coordinator Dowell Loggains and Duckworth, which has already been developed and is "solid," per a recent conversation with Landon. Recruits consistently cite relationships as one of the main reasons for their commitment to a particular school, so seeing the two sides bonding so early in Duckworth's recruitment cycle is promising.
