Where Will Braylen Russell Commit?

South Carolina's Football program desperately needs to add another running back to their 2024 recruiting class, especially when considering the fact that their current running back core has multiple running backs with either one or two years of eligibility remaining. Another facet to consider is that outside of Kevin Harris back in 2020, at no point in the past eight years has it seemed like the Gamecocks possessed a bell-cow type of back who could take over an entire football game.

South Carolina has believed at different points that they could have that with Arkansas native Braylen Russell, who's set to announce his commitment tonight and choose between three finalists; the Gamecocks, the Tennessee Volunteers, and the home-state Arkansas Razorbacks. According to his On3 profile, the Razorbacks have received the most visits from Russell, with Braylen taking five trips to Fayetteville. Tennessee and South Carolina have hosted Russell for two visits and one visit, respectively.

In the previous few days, the industry has been leaning towards Arkansas as the potential fit here, and considering South Carolina's pursuit of 4-star running back Daniel Hill, I believe the 6'1, 225-pound back will wind up staying home.
