BREAKING: 2025 Four-Star DL Amare Adams Announces His Decision

South Carolina's Football program lost out on one of their top 2025 targets on Sunday night, with Amare Adams committing to one of their biggest rivals.

Shane Beamer and the South Carolina Gamecocks have enjoyed plenty of success in terms of retaining some of the best high school football talent over the past two seasons. When they received an October from 2025 three-star wide receiver Jayden Sellers, the younger brother of current Gamecock quarterback LaNorris Sellers, they appeared on track to do so once again in the upcoming high school recruiting cycle.

However, those efforts took a blow on Sunday night, as a fellow teammate of Jayden and longtime South Carolina target in four-star defensive lineman Amare Adams committed to the Clemson Tigers.

In years past, the commitment wouldn't have been much of a surprise considering the Tiger's dominant run between the years of 2015 and 2020, but in this case, many folks are left scratching their head. According to On3's recruiting profile for Amare Adams, the rising senior has visited Columbia as least six more times than he has Clemson, usually an indicator of which team is set to land a particular prospect.

Despite the result of Sunday night, there's a long ways to go before early national signing day in 2025, and I would be willing to bet that South Carolina won't be backing down until this one is over.
