South Carolina Football Target Receives Prediction To Alabama
2024 four-star running back Daniel Hill, a highly sought-after recruit for the South Carolina Gamecocks, recently made waves in the world of Gamecock recruiting. On Saturday night, 247Sports Director of Football Recruiting, Steve Wiltfong, logged a crystal ball prediction in favor of the Alabama Crimson Tide.
While South Carolina has prioritized Hill this cycle, the competition for his commitment has intensified, with Alabama emerging as a prominent contender. Hill's current top three choices include Alabama, Tennessee, and South Carolina. Still, the real battle seems to be between the Gamecocks and the Crimson Tide.
South Carolina was considered the favorite to secure Hill's commitment for several months. Many anticipated him committing to the Gamecocks a few months ago, but he wound up postponing his decision. South Carolina already has a four-star running back commit, based on On3 Sports' player rankings, in Matthew Fuller, who has amassed an impressive 1,500 yards this season.

However, the Gamecocks recognize the importance of bolstering their running back room, with Dakereon Joyner set to exhaust his eligibility and Mario Anderson Jr. and Juju McDowell having just one year of eligibility remaining after 2023. Therefore, this staff aims to sign two running backs in the 2024 class. They've spared no effort in their pursuit of Hill, to the point where they even stopped recruiting another highly-ranked running back who let it be known that he would not be coming if they also brought in Hill.
If Hill ultimately decides to commit to Alabama, the Gamecocks won't go down without a fight. They are expected to continue their pursuit and make a compelling case for him to join their program. The battle for Daniel Hill's commitment promises to be an intriguing storyline over the next couple of months and will be one to watch as it gets closer to early national signing day.
