Gamecock Target Peyton Lewis Announces His Commitment Timeline

Montario Hardesty and South Carolina's offensive coaching staff are in the game for several national-level running back prospects in the 2024 recruiting cycle. The Gamecocks are viewed as a legitimate contender for prospects like Florida native Anthony Carrie, Mississippi native Daniel Hill and Virginia native Peyton Lewis.
Lewis, in particular, released his Top 6 less than a week ago, which included South Carolina. Peyton visited Columbia back on March 18th, and according to Joe Spears of On3 Sports, had a different view of the Gamecocks when it concluded.
“I had a perception of what South Carolina was like and what they’re about but after really visiting that image has exploded for me and really just kind of painted that picture for me, so the visit was very beneficial for me and definitely Top 2 in my offers so far.”
Lewis told 247sports National Recruiting Analyst Brian Dohn in an article that was released on Wednesday that he plans to make a commitment sometime later on this month. Unfortunately for South Carolina, it appears that Tennessee holds a leg up in his recruitment as multiple predictions from both On3 Sports and 247sports have been logged in favor of the Volunteers.
