South Carolina is fresh off a home win over Wofford on Tuesday, but a big obstacle awaits them in SEC play this weekend. The second ranked Texas Longhorns come to town for a three game series at Founders Park this weekend. Can the Gamecocks pull off the upset?

Monte Lee's Gamecocks are coming off an 11-1 win over the Wofford Terriers on Tuesday. Tyler Bak excelled at the plate with a career night. He finished the game going four of five at the plate with three RBI's and two runs scored. As a team, South Carolina turned 13 hits into 11 runs and got the Terriers out of the game in the seventh.

The big inning for the Gamecocks offensively came in the fifth, where the team brought in six runs off a couple three run homers from Bak and Will Craddock. South Carolina used six pitchers in the game on Tuesday, with Alex Valentin getting the start. As a staff, the team gave up two hits, one run, and struck out nine batters.

Longhorns Looking to Extend Winning Streak

Texas is riding high on a four game winning streak heading into Founders Park. They are fresh off a three game series sweep against the eighth ranked Oklahoma Sooners over the weekend. Outfielder Aiden Robbins has been a big pickup out of the transfer portal so far this spring. He leads all starters in batting average (.372), hits (42), and tied for the team lead in home runs with 10.

The pitching staff has been a strong unit as well. The team has a combined 2.93 ERA, only giving up a .209 batting average, 3.3 runs per game, and seven saves on the year.
