Four-star QB Bear Bachmeier talks Stanford and recruitment

In this story:
Troy Taylor is in the process of rebuilding Stanford's football program, and one of the biggest challenges in doing so is finding the quarterback of the future for the Cardinal.
Stanford landed a sure-fire candidate in 2024 four-star quarterback Elijah Brown out of Mater Dei, but the room will need depth and more talent. Especially when you consider the possibility that the Cardinal may end up losing one of their quarterbacks to the portal eventually as that has become the name of the game in college football.
Luckily for Stanford they are not only in good standing with one of the top quarterbacks in the 2025 class, but the Cardinal currently have the brother of four-star Bear Bachmeier on the team in true freshmen Tiger Bachmeier.
The younger Bachmeier brother recently chatted with 247Sports about his recruitment as he has already taken trips to Stanford and Alabama, and is set to take a trip up to Oregon.
He holds nearly 20 offers from programs like Alabama, Colorado, Michigan, and Notre Dame among others. When discussing Stanford he highlighted the chance to team up with his brother again, as the two combined to be one of the most lethal duos in all of high school football this past season.
“I had a great visit to Stanford and like it there a lot,” Bachmeier said. “It’s a great school and they’re pushing hard for me. My brother is there and it would be great to play with him again.
This past season saw Bear throw for 2,853 yards and 26 touchdowns to just four interceptions, while rushing for another 644 yards and 18 touchdowns. His big arm and ability to use his legs would fit perfectly in Taylor's offense, and the quarterback spot could be up for grabs by the time he gets onto campus.
In terms of where he's at in his recruitment, there is still quite a ways to go.
“Saying that, I’m not close to making a decision right now. Like I said, Stanford and 'Bama are the only two schools I’ve been to. It’s still early for me and I want to see what else is out there, so I’m going to play out my junior season and then go from there.”
The Cardinal will surely keep in contact with the younger Bachmeier, but they won't be the only major programs keep tabs on him.
