It's been a tough year to be a fan of TCU baseball. Sure, the team gave us lots of excitement with a program-best 13-0 start. Then, Big 12 play began. Since then, the Horned Frogs have gone 9-12, including a paltry 7-11 in conference play.

However, former TCU head coach Jim Schlossnagle is having an incredible year with his team in College Station. The Texas A&M Aggies are 32-4 and hold the best record among all Division One baseball teams. This week, they jumped into the top spot in all five of the national polls.

I know it's Texas A&M, and as Horned Frog fans, your natural inclination is to say, "Absolutely, no way." But hear me out. TCU needs a miracle at this point to even make the Big 12 Tournament, let alone the NCAA Tournament. The Big 12 is not the quality conference it has been in recent years. Schloss, during his 18 years at the helm in Fort Worth, was a fan favorite. He turned the TCU program around into what it is (most years). We know TCU still holds a special place in his heart, so he should have a special place in TCU fans' hearts. Maybe this is the year to put aside those decades of resentment about that school in College Station and cheer for Schloss.

The Week 10 baseball polls this week are very SEC top-heavy. After A&M, Tennessee (30-6), Kentucky (30-5), and Arkansas (30-5) are all in the Top 10. The ACC also has Clemson (29-6), Duke 26-10), Florida State (30-5), and Virginia 28-8), plus North Carolina (29-7) in one poll. In fact, the only teams in the Top 10 outside of those two conferences are Oregon State (29-5) and East Carolina (27-8).

Dallas Baptist (26-8), a team TCU beat in Dallas last month and will host in Fort Worth next week, remains ranked in all polls, anywhere from No. 19 (USA Today Coaches Poll) to No. 25 (D1 Baseball).

In the Big 12, three teams are ranked in at least one poll (Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, and West Virginia), with several other teams receiving votes in at least one poll.
