The Road to Omaha has begun. You've got Bowl Season in December-January, March Madness, and then June baseball – the trifecta of ultimate college sporting events.

Sixty-four teams began their journey on Friday. In 16 Regionals across the country (well, mainly in the Southeast), the round-robin double-elimination tournament is underway, with lots of excitement for the next three to four days. Of these teams, 16 will win their Regional and advance to next weekend's Super Regionals.

The full slate of 64 teams started the day on Saturday. Today, 48 teams are still playing, as 16, one from each Regional, were eliminated.

Many Regionals experienced weather delays on Saturday. Two of those were postponed until Sunday due to the weather. Game Four in the Fayetteville Regional between Arkansas and TCU was one. LSU versus Oregon was the other.

Yesterday, three No. 1 seeds lost. In their elimination games on Saturday, one of those won to stay alive (Coastal Carolina), while the other two went 0-2 and have been eliminated - Oklahoma State and Auburn.

Six teams from the Big 12 were in action on Saturday.  Three of them faced elimination. Oklahoma and West Virginia had decisive wins in their Regionals to move to Sunday's games. Oklahoma State went 0-2 in the Stillwater Regional and is the first Big 12 team to be eliminated.

On Friday, TCU, Texas and Texas Tech all advanced to winner's bracket games. TCU's game was postponed due to weather.  On Saturday, Texas Tech defeated national No. 2 Florida to gain the advantage in the Gainesville Regional while Texas defeated national No. 9 seed Miami to gain the advantage in the Coral Gables Regional.
