Men's Basketball: TCU Lands UCF Transfer CJ Walker

The former five-star recruit forward joins the Horned Frogs as a graduate transfer.

TCU has landed their first transfer of the offseason, a former five-star recruit.

UCF transfer CJ Walker announced on social media Sunday that he will be a Horned Frog next season as a graduate transfer. The 6 foot 8 inch forward averaged 7.8 points and 4.7 rebounds for the Knights last season.

Walker played the last four seasons at UCF starting 49 of the 74 games he played. He gives the Frogs an extremely talented athlete and experienced defender that should play significant minutes.

Prior to his play at UCF, Walker played his freshman year at Oregon, appearing in 28 games and averaging four points. He was a top 30 five-star recruit in the high school class of 2019 according to 247Sports.

With TCU losing forwards Emanuel Miller, JaKobe Coles and Chuck O'Bannon Jr., Walker fills a need for the Frogs. He will join Ernest Udeh Jr. as the only TCU big men with college basketball games played under their belt. It also remains to be seen whether or not senior center Essam Mostafa will return for his final year of eligibility.

This will just be the start for TCU in the transfer portal. Expect the Frogs to add some guards soon, pending on the status of Jameer Nelson Jr.'s waiver. A couple names to watch are Toledo's Dante Maddox Jr. and Arizona State's Frankie Collins.
