Basketball: Jamie Dixon Inks Country's No. 11 Class

Four new Horned Frogs signed their National Letters of Intent on Wednesday, making up a class that ranks 11th nationally which is the highest-ranked class Jamie Dixon has signed at TCU.

Texas-native and four-star recruit Micah Robinson headlines the historic class. The forward currently plays high school basketball for Oak Hill Academy in Virginia, but is originally from the Dallas area. Robinson is the 83rd-best player in the country and the third-highest rated recruit in TCU history according to 247 Composite rankings. He sits behind only 2003 five-star Blake Adams and 2019 four-star PJ Fuller. Robinson chose the Frogs over Vanderbilt, LSU, and Virginia Tech.
In a recent outing, Robinson scored 22 points, dished out 10 assists, and recorded four steals in his team's win over Aim High Academy.
Next up is David Punch, hailing from Harker Heights, Texas. Punch is the 92nd-best player in the country and the eighth-highest recruit in TCU history and is a 6'7" forward. The four-star recruit chose the Frogs over North Carolina State, Penn State, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Virginia Commonwealth, and Xavier. Punch is an excellent rebounder and a strong finisher and will provide a valuable interior presence for Dixon.
Center Malick Diallo is a big dude who defends the rim and plays most of his game above the rim. The 6'10" big man is the 126th-best player in the country, the 26th-best center in the country, and the ninth-best recruit in TCU history. Diallo originally hails from Mali, Africa but he plays his ball in Utah for Wasatch Academy, one of the best prep schools in America. Diallo picked TCU over Loyala-Chicago, BYU, Cal, and Vanderbilt. Diallo figures to slide into a role currently occupied by guys like Xavier Cork and Ernest Udeh Jr.
Last but not least is Beaumont, Texas native Ashton Simmons. Simmons is the only true guard in the class. Not only is he an excellent scorer, but he is an elite-level perimeter defender. The point guard averaged 17.3 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game in his junior season, a stat line that truly demonstrates his versatility. Simmons is ranked as the 208th-best player in the country, the 15th-best player in Texas, and the 24th-best recruit in TCU history. He chose Jamie Dixon and the Horned Frogs over Utah, Wichita State, and Grand Canyon.
This class is the best that TCU has ever seen, and it is a perfect signifier that Horned Frog basketball is here to stay. Not only is it the 11th-best class in the country, but only one current Big 12 has a better haul, and that's Kansas, which has the country's fourth-best class.
