TCU Women's Basketball: Preview Vs. Kansas State

Horned Frogs host the Wildcats in another Big 12 Showdown

The Horned Frogs did not expect things to go this way this season. The injury bug is still impacting this team, and it is really hurting the outcome of how this team really plays.

TCU hosts Kansas State Saturday, Feb. 18 at  5:00 p.m. in Fort Worth, Texas Schollmaier Arena. The game will be aired Big 12 Now on ESPN+.

At this point the season, Coach Raegan Pebley has to be trying every imaginable combination to trying to figure out on how to crack a win in conference play. The Horned Frogs are 0-13 in Big 12 conference play this year. Things started off a little promising, but things have only gotten uglier and uglier from that point.

Going into this game, hopefully the Horned Frogs can steal their first Big 12 win of the season, as this Kansas State squad is only 3-8 in Big 12 conference play. Coach Pebley always has some trick up her sleeves. At this point it is up to the players to convert.

Right now TCU shows glimpse of getting things done. They either start games to slow, or they cannot close games out.

TCU ranks second in the Big 12 in steals with 8.62 per game in conference play. TCU shot a season-best .491 from the field (26-of-53) against Oklahoma State (02/04).TCU shot a season-high .500 (13-of-26) 3-point percentage at Oklahoma (01/31). TCU averages 3.42 blocks per game, ranking them sixth in the Big 12.

Hopefully these players can cash in for another big night. Tomi Taiwo is one of seven Big 12 players to have a 30+ point game this year (33, vs. Texas Tech). With her 15 points at Texas, Taiwo has scored at least 10 points 18 times this season. Lucy Ibeh scored a season-high 19 points against Oklahoma State (02/04). Ibeh has two double-doubles this season, most recently at Oklahoma State (18 pts, 11 rebounds).
