New women's basketball head coach Mark Campbell added a former three-time All-American to his coaching staff this week as the Horned Frogs prepare for the new season.

Ruthy Hebard played under Campbell at Oregon, earning three All-American honors in four seasons. During her four years in Eugene under Campbell, Hebard averaged 16.4 points and nine rebounds per game. In Hebard's time at Oregon, her team made the NCAA tournament three times and would have made it four times if not for COVID.

Ruthy Hebard, forward for the WNBA's Chicago Sky, has joined Mark Campbell on the staff of the TCU women's basketball team.

After her career in Eugene ended, Hebard was drafted eighth overall to the Chicago Sky. She just completed her fourth season in the WNBA, averaging 3.9 points and 2.4 rebounds in an average of nine minutes per game. In 2021, the Sky won the WNBA championship, and Hebard scored 5.8 points per game in just over 16 minutes per contest.

Hebard joins a new-look TCU team that added a new coach in the offseason and a bunch of new impact players. The Horned Frogs have not been a very good program recently, but now, the future looks as bright as ever.

TCU, along with Oregon, Minnesota, Penn State, and Vanderbilt, is one of five programs with an active WNBA player on the coaching staff.
