Football Poll Watching Week 5: Four Pac-12 Teams in Top Ten

In this story:

Week 4 delivered some of the best football games of the season so far. It featured six games with ranked vs. ranked opponents. And the showdown in South Bend between Ohio State and Notre Dame was an epic game that was not decided until the last seconds.

With all of those games, there was bound to be some movement in this week's polls. The top two spots remained the same in both polls, with Georgia at No. 1 and Michigan at No. 2. After that, there were lots of changes, with teams like Colorado dropping from the rankings while teams like Kansas made their season debut in the polls.

Ohio State moved up two spots in the AP Top 25 and one in the Coaches Poll. The top five in the AP poll are now Georgia, Michigan, Texas, Ohio State, and Florida State. In the Coaches Poll, it's the same five teams but in a different order - Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State, Florida State, and Texas.

The Pac-12, playing in its last season in its current structure, is certainly trying to make a statement before most of its members move to the Big Ten, Big 12, and ACC next season. Four teams from the league -Washington, USC, Oregon, and Utah - are now in the Top Ten in both polls.

In the Big 12, both polls have Texas (3/5), Oklahoma (14/14), and Kansas (24/24) all ranked. Kansas State is No. 25 in the Coaches Poll and is receiving votes in the AP poll. TCU is receiving votes in both polls.
