Big 12 Football Game of the Week: #15 Oklahoma State at UCF

Cowboys will look to extend their five game win streak this week in Orlando.

Ollie Gordon Jr. and Oklahoma State are rolling. After a bleak 2-2 start to the season, the Cowboys have won five straight including wins over currently ranked Kansas State, Kansas, and Oklahoma. Oklahoma State's turnaround has been more than impressive, and it has earned the team a No. 15 ranking in the College Football Playoff rankings.

It has been the opposite story for UCF. The Knights started the season with three straight wins before dropping five games in a row. Gus Malzahn and his team got back in the win column last week with a close 28-26 win over Cincinnati. The Knights were a promising team entering the season, but an injury to quarterback John Rhys-Plumlee made things difficult. As Rhys-Plumlee gets more comfortable, UCF will get better and win some games it isn't supposed to.

That win could come against Oklahoma State. Although the Cowboys are playing like one of the best teams in America and have arguably the best running back in America, they are not perfect. In three of its last four wins, Oklahoma State's defense has allowed at least 24 points and has really relied on its offense to help them out. An opponent with a great defense could end the Pokes' run, but luckily for the Cowboys, UCF's defense is not good.

The Knights are second to last in the country - 132nd out of 133 teams - in rush yards allowed per game, and this week, they get to see the mighty Ollie Gordon Jr., who has terrorized defenses for the last month. It's hard to imagine UCF's defense stopping Gordon Jr and the Oklahoma State rushing attack, but it is not out of the possibility that UCF's offense can keep up.

Whichever defense can show up will win the game. UCF is looking for its first signature win of the season, and Oklahoma State is looking to stay hot. It should be a show.
