Beach Volleyball: No. 4 TCU Goes 1-3 In Death Volley Invitational

The Horned Frogs get a win over No. 6 Cal after losses to the top three teams in the nation.

No. 4 TCU Beach Volleyball went 1-3 in Baton Rouge, La. at the Death Valley Invitational over the weekend. The Horned Frogs are now 19-5 on the year.

Their lone win came against No. 6 Cal, but took losses to No. 1 USC, No. 2 UCLA and No. 3 Stanford.

Friday, March 29

Lost to No. 1 USC 0-5

Olivia Clines and Morgan Williams had their first showing as a duo. TCU is now 1-8 against USC in program history.

Lost to No. 2 UCLA 0-5

This was the first time the Horned Frogs played the No. 1 and No. 2 teams back-to-back on the same day. They fel to 2-5 versus the Bruins all-time.

Saturday, March 30

Lost to No. 3 Stanford 2-3

Anhelina Khmil/Ana Vergara and Hailey Hamlett/Sutton MacTavish had their first matches as pairings. TCU drops to 3-2 against Stanford in program history.

Beat No. 6 Cal 3-2

Clines/Keagan Polk and Khmil/Vergara got their ever first wins as duos. The Frogs move to 4-0 against Cal all-time.

After the gauntlet of a schedule, the Frogs are now 7-5 against ranked opponents on the season. Getting back home will be a nice reset for still one of the top teams in the nation.

Up Next: No. 4 TCU will come home for the TCU Invitational this weekend (April 5-6). They open with a match against HCU at 11 a.m. CT Friday, April 5.

Nick is excited to contribute to TCU Horned Frogs On SI and looks forward to his next sports communication journey after graduation in May 2025.
