TCU Women's Soccer: Kickoff Party 2023

Thursday, Eric Bell and the Women’s Soccer Team hosted their second-annual kickoff party at the Legends Club at Amon G. Carter Stadium.
With the team and coaching staff in full attendance, it gave Frog fans a chance to hear from the team as the 2023 season nears. In 2022, the team finished 2nd in the Big 12 and competed in the Big 12 Championship game against West Virginia. The team further punched its ticket to the NCAA Tournament and made it to the Sweet 16 before being eliminated by Notre Dame.
Bell is heading into his 12th season as head coach of TCU Women’s Soccer and is incredibly excited about what this year has to offer. Retaining much of last season’s squad, the team is also welcoming the arrival of 12 additional players.
Of the 12 players, eight are incoming freshmen.
Sasha Carbone, Gabbi Ceballos, Katrina Chong, Brooke Conover, Bella Diorio, Marli Galdamez, Elise Krone, and Landen Matthews are all making their way to TCU and hope to make their mark as a Horned Frogs.
The remaining four players–Jennie Immethun, Sandra Jakobsen, Maddie Mooney, and Petie Nassetta–have utilized the transfer portal to play for TCU’s national powerhouse of a program.
Each of the players had a chance to express their optimism for the upcoming season, which starts on August 17 at Garvey-Rosenthal Soccer Stadium against SMU.
While introducing some of the team’s new faces and reconnecting with the old, the program took the time to recognize David Medanich, who will be inducted into the TCU Hall of Fame this fall.
Medanich scored 93 goals in his time as a Horned Frog from 1977 to 1979. Setting numerous records for the men’s team, Medanich was inducted into the TCU Hall of Fame and honored at the program’s kickoff party on Thursday.
Medanich’s family and former teammates and coaches were in attendance to see one of their own honored for his tremendous feats.
While it was all smiles at the 2023 Kickoff Party, the team will look ahead to the start of the season. The Horned Frogs have quite the campaign ahead of them, with expectations set high after a successful 2022 season.
