National Media Projects Tennessee's Win Total

The expectations are rising for Tennessee in 2023, and a national outlet has set their win total.

It's almost time for spring camp, which means all the media festivities are in full view. Preseason lines, Heisman odds, media days, and more are all around the corner.

Therefore, it's time to project some projections. 247Sports' Brad Crawford released a column on Monday detailing how he expects Vegas to treat each SEC team and what he envisions their projected win total.

Crawford set Tennessee's win total at nine. That was third in the conference to Georgia and Alabama, and Crawford's projections had Tennessee as the No. 2 SEC East team.

"Tennessee plays one road game (at Florida) during the first seven weeks of the season before showdowns at Alabama and Kentucky in October will likely dictate how the Volunteers look coming down the stretch. For a team that went through the gauntlet unscathed in 2022 prior to the road matchup at Georgia, that could be a good omen for the program once again. We're expecting Tennessee to be ranked inside the top 15 to begin the season and Josh Heupel's group has a great chance to stay there heading into the Third Saturday in October."

As he mentioned, they have an excellent opening schedule filled with what should be wins. However, it gets very tough coming down the stretch, and those final few games may determine how we view Josh Heupel and company in 2024.
