Tennessee Volunteers inside linebacker Arion Carter is doing all the right things to prepare for this season, according to his position coach.

Tennessee linebacker Arion Carter was a huge addition on the defensive side of the ball for this coaching staff. They worked hard to land him in the 2023 signing class ahead of early national signing day, and he logged substantial snaps during his true freshman season. Carter logged 17 tackles and a pass deflection in eight appearances.

He was becoming a consistent part of Tennessee's inside linebacker rotation but suffered a shoulder injury against the Kentucky Wildcats. Carter underwent season-ending surgery and spent the first part of the New Year rehabbing from his injury. He's working his way back on the field and has impressed new linebackers coach William Inge, the former co-defensive coordinator for the Washington Huskies. Inge praised Carter's effort during a media availability session.

"He is the one guy in the morning that is coming in every morning trying to get a head start on what’s going on today, what are we going to do, what’s all in the install," Inge explained to the media. "'Hey Coach, I want to learn about both positions.' It is awesome having a chance to really talk to him, and he is exactly what you want in your program."
