Halftime Report: Alabama

In this story:
It's been an interesting first half of play from Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Tennessee jumped out to an early 13-0 lead, powered by complementary football and a suddenly vibrant passing attack. Alabama responded, and then the Vols put together a statement drive to end the half. The Crimson Tide open the second half with the football, and this is still anyone's football game.
The Vols' defense continues to lead the way for this team. They've forced two turnovers already in crucial spots - edge rusher James Pearce Jr. got a strip-sack in the first quarter that turned into three points, and corner Doneiko Slaughter tipped a pass in the end zone that was intercepted by safety Jaylen McCollough. The second level is rallying to the football well, and it's been another stellar effort from defensive coordinator Tim Bank's unit.
Quarterback Joe Milton III has been impressive in the first half. He's made a series of impressive throws that kept the chains rolling for the Vols. Wide receiver Squirrel White has been his favorite target, as White has already gone over 100 yards. The run game hasn't provided much support today, but the aerial attack has finally started to find its rhythm.
While the Vols should feel comfortable heading into halftime, plenty of football remains. Alabama has held strong on the defensive front and continues to play competitively. We should be in for a fun one in the second half.
