Hendon Hooker Signs With Sports Agency

Quarterback Hendon Hooker has officially moved on from college football and signed with CAA for his NFL representation.

When prospects head on to the next level, the contracts and dollar figures inevitably get bigger, especially at the quarterback position. It's the most marketable position in the sport, and their wallets reflect that.

Quarterback Hendon Hooker is preparing for such changes. The top of the draft carries a consensus top four of Bryce Young, CJ Stroud, Anthony Richardson, and Will Levis, but Hooker is pushing for the fifth spot. One NFL coach spoke with ESPN's Pete Thamel saying that be believes Hooker will be a "quality NFL starter."

On Monday, Hooker signed with CAA Sports for his future representation. He is preparing for the NFL Combine in late-March, and franchises often prefer to connect prospects through their agents. Furthermore, several endorsements could be in line for Hooker after a prolific final season on Rocky Top.

He threw for 3,135 yards and 27 touchdowns in 2022, throwing just five interceptions in his two seasons at Tennessee. Head coach Josh Heupel did an excellent job maximizing Hooker's strengths while forcing him to become a high-level processor to prepare for the NFL. That development strategy worked over time; Hooker threw the backside dig as well as anyone in the sport, which is a three-read concept that requires quarterbacks to quickly get through the front-side of his progression.

CAA represented 143 NFL players during the 2022 season. Patrick Mahomes II, Josh Allen, Joe Burrow, Dak Prescott, and Matt Stafford are their premium quarterbacks, and Hooker's name is being added to that list.
