Tennessee Football Linebacker Jaedon Harmon Breaks His Silence Following His ACL Injury

The Tennessee Volunteers now have to shift their focus to the remainder of the depth chart ahead of the 2026 season.

The Tennessee Vols have been receiving some unfortunate news as of recently. One of the news headlines that is unfortunate for the Vols is that one of their players has officially suffered an injury that will keep him on the sideline.

That player is Jaedon Harmon, who is entering his second season with the Vols after redshirting a season ago. The talented linebacker was expected to have a massive season, but he unfortunately suffered a torn ACL during a weekend practice with the program. This means that the talented linebacker will miss the entire 2026 season.

The news was announced on Sunday, which later led to Harmon sharing his thoughts on the situation, which is the first time that he has spoken out following the injury that took place. Although things aren't ideal for Harmon, he shared a positive response when addressing the fans.

"God always got a plan. And one thing is certain I will be back and I will be better," Jaedon Harmon said when making a post on his X account.

What This Means for the Tennessee Volunteers

Harmon was expected to be a rotational linebacker for the Vols this season, but his injury will prevent that from taking place. Instead, the depth of the linebacker room will be completely reshaped. The players likely taking a step up in the depth include some freshmen, as the Vols will now have to rely on Georgia high school star Brayden Rouse and Gatorade Player of the Year in Mississippi, TJ White.

Harmon's contribution will be missed when it comes to the Vols. If he were to stay healthy, he would have been great thanks to his high motor and violent manner, which is something that he was able to showcase during his high school career with the Rome Wolves in the Peach State.

Harmon was also developing his body the right way through Derek Owings, who joined the staff as the strength and conditioning coach. His development with the pass coverage is also undeniable when it comes to working across the middle and when it comes to being able to stop the short routes that come from the tight end position.

His man-to-man work has really shown to be an improvement, and it is unfortunate that he won't have the chance to showcase that this season. However, his message indicates that Vol fans will see him back on the field and better than he has ever been.
