Will Anderson: Darnell Wright "The Best Tackle" He Faced

In this story:
Will Anderson should be a familiar name for college football fans. The Alabama edge rusher wreaked havoc on the SEC for two consecutive seasons, tallying 204 tackles and 34.5 sacks during his three seasons in Tuscaloosa.
However, one offensive lineman gave him problems. Tennessee offensive tackle Darnell Wright had one of the best games of his career against Alabama and Anderson this season. He played consistently, using power, athleticism, and technique to execute a difficult assignment.
Alabama edge rusher Will Anderson, a likely top-five pick, says that Tennessee’s Darnell Wright is the best OT he faced in college. Anderson mentioned how much better Wright got year-to-year. Pointed to his ability to mirror rushers and anchor at his size.

Anderson noted Wright's efforts during his media availability at the NFL Combine. When a reporter asked who his toughest college assignment was, Anderson immediately named Wright and underscored how much Wright improved from season to season.
Wright had an excellent season at right tackle for the Volunteers. Quarterback Hendon Hooker had one of the top seasons in college football, and a big reason for that was that his right side was clean.
Some consistency things can be ironed out in Wright's game, but he has no glaring limitations that should keep him out of the first round. His Senior Bowl performance backs that up, and we should hear even more from him in the coming months.
