On campus visits have been prohibited by the NCAA since March of last year, but that is likely set to change at the end of May. The NCAA has recommended switching the dead period to a quiet period at the beginning of June. This has set the recruiting world on fire and prospects are already locking in official visits.

Tennessee has been a prominent player in the recruitment of 2022 defensive end Venson Sneed since Josh Heupel took over in Knoxville, talking with him virtually almost daily.

The Florida edge rusher has not been able to see Tennessee’s campus yet, but that is set to change.

He tells VR2 on SI, he will take his official visit with Tennessee beginning on June 24th, allowing him a three day look at the campus and the chance to bond with Tennessee’s coaches and players in-person.

"Coach Golesh and Coach Heupel were pretty good to me when they were at UCF, and now they are at Tennessee trying to build a new culture up there. I am looking deeply into that. I enjoy both of them, to be honest," Sneed recently told VR2 on SI in an interview.

"I hear from pretty much all of the defensive staff every day. Coach Heupel called me earlier, Coach Garner called me earlier, and Coach Banks. They are pretty good with communication which I love,” he said at the time.

As visits across the country are likely to open up, more and more movement like this should come on the recruiting trail.
