In this story:

Quanell X Farrakhan Jr. is a 4-star wide receiver from The Woodlands, Texas, and is the 33rd-ranked WR nationally in his class. On Tuesday afternoon, one of the most sought-after wide receivers in the 2025 class dropped his top 5 schools on Twitter.

In the mix, still, are the Tennesee Volunteers. The Vols are one of two SEC East teams in Farrakhan Jr's top 5, along with the defending champion Georgia Bulldogs. The rest of the list includes last year's national runner-up, TCU, Penn State, and Florida State.

The Vols have been in contact with the Texas prospect since last year, after an explosive freshman season, and offered Farrakhan Jr. on Halloween last year. The coaches have reportedly told Farrakhan Jr. that they want to run their offense around him, possibly similar to what they did with Biletnikoff winner Jaylin Hyatt last season.

Farrakhan Jr. also mentioned 5-star quarterback Nico Iamaleava in the past, stating that an elite signal-caller is always nice. The 6-1 pass catcher is coming off of a season in which he recorded 14 yards per catch and seven touchdowns. He has made first-team all-district in Texas District 13-6A as both a freshman and a sophomore.

With Josh Heupel's innovative, new-age offense, Rocky Top may be the ideal spot for Farrakhan Jr. As a rising junior, there is plenty of time to determine that. For now, Tennesee is in the hunt and will continue to tab him as a name to keep an eye on.
