Longhorns Clinch Series With 10-4 Win Over Mountaineers: Live Game Log
The Texas Longhorns (36-18, 13-9) are back in action on Friday night as they look for a crucial Big 12 conference series win over the West Virginia Mountaineers (39-14, 15-7).
It was a dominant showing from the Longhorns in the series opener on Thursday night, as they cruised to an easy 12-2 win to kick off the series against West Virginia with a bang.
Lucas Gordon was once again his usual self, shutting down one of the Big 12's best lineups. He twirled an absolute gem, providing seven shutout innings with eight strikeouts to make his case for Big 12 Pitcher of the Year.
Offensively, the Longhorns rode the red hot bat of Porter Brown. The left fielder launched three home runs and drove in eight of Texas' 12 runs, a career-high in one game for both.
Now, the Longhorns look to clinch the series win and keep their conference title hopes alive.
