No. 23 Texas Rides Strong Pitching, Beats Incarnate Word 7-1: Live Game Log

The Longhorns are back at home looking for a midweek win over the Cardinals.

Spirits are undoubtedly high as the No. 23 Texas Longhorns (9-6, 1-1) return home to Disch-Falk Field on Tuesday evening to kick off a 10-game home stand against the Incarnate Word Cardinals (13-4). 

The Longhorns snapped a four-game losing skid last Friday in dominant fashion, securing the series win over the Texas Tech Red Raiders in a 22-8 drubbing. While they were unable to complete the sweep, dropping game two, a series win was in the cards following a successful rally and subsequent win on Sunday afternoon.

While the sweep would have been the outcome in a perfect world, taking the series in a hostile environment from a tough conference foe is absolutely nothing to scoff at. As a result they're sitting pretty in the Big 12 standings and have some momentum behind them. 

Now, though, Texas must erase the weekend from its memory and focus on an Incarnate Word squad that has gotten off to a torrid start so far this season.
