The Texas Longhorns completed their second scrimmage of fall camp on Saturday at DKR as the team prepares for the start of the season in two weeks.

Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian delivered some positive news that no injuries occurred during the scrimmage.

"I thought that coming out of this scrimmage of 120 plays and having no injuries, that's positive," Sarkisian said. "A lot of teams around the country are having to scrimmage and guys are going down, so I think it speaks to the conditioning of this team."

On top of that, Sarkisian also had some important updates regarding the health of offensive linemen Trevor Goosby and Laurence Seymore.

Trevor Goosby

Goosby suffered a bone bruise in his knee during practice this past week. He avoided a season-ending injury, and Sarkisian revealed that he's already working his way back into the fold.

"Trevor, I think, is making really good progress," Sarkisian said. "So I do think we're going to get the left side (of the offensive line) back."

It remains unclear what exactly Goosby's timeline to return is.

Sarkisian also revealed some additional details about how Goosby's injury occurred, admitting that he had a major sense of relief to see that his star offensive lineman's knee wasn't as severe as it could have been.

"Glad I went to church," Sarkisian said. " ... It was non-contact. We were on grass. It wasn't during the day, it wasn't too hot. So yeah, I was obviously very concerned, and 1) for Trevor because you know he had an opportunity to leave a year ago. He decided to stay, and he's got a bunch of aspirations of playing in the NFL, and he's got high draft grades right now and 2) for our team, he's an invaluable member of our team."

"So the fact that we got the news that we got, that was about as good as news as we could have received. And so for that to be the result back, it was definitely a sigh of relief."

Laurence Seymore

Sarkisian said last week that Seymore had an "injury hiccup" in the first scrimmage, which held him out of practice leading up to the second scrimmage.

Fortunately, he will be returning to practice in a few days.

"Laurence will be back Monday," Sarkisian said. "Could we have had him back and kind of held him some? Sure, but my idea was let's just rest him completely. Let's get him rehabbed, and then get him back full steam on Monday."
