Kansas State Wildcats Offensive Players to Watch vs. Texas Longhorns

Kansas State's duo quarterback situation may be the Texas Longhorns' biggest threat entering the Week 10 matchup of the 2023 season.

Two weeks ago, against TCU, the Kansas State Wildcats began to use a two-quarterback system for their offense, and it seems to be working like magic for the Wildcats.

Both Will Howard and Avery Johnson took snaps on the field and alternated every series.  Against TCU and the Houston Cougars, while utilizing both offensive leaders, the Wildcats scored 41 points each week, holding the Horned Frogs to a field goal and the Cougars without a score.

A two-quarterback system is unfamiliar territory to the Texas Longhorn defense, so the Wildcats may pose a threat in an unpredictable way to the Horns.

Here are the players to watch on Kansas State's offense in Week 10 when Texas faces the Wildcats.

QB Will Howard

So far this season, Howard has completed 137 passes out of 215 attempts for a total of 1,628 yards. He has a 63.7 percent completion rate with 14 total recorded touchdowns and seven interceptions.

RB DJ Giddens

With an extended amount of playing time now that running back Deuce Vaughn is off on his professional journey, the Wildcats' program has showcased the damage Giddens can do.

Just this season, Giddens has recorded a total of 722 yards off of 116 carries. He has also totaled seven touchdowns so far in 2023.

WR Phillip Brooks

Brooks was the second-leading receiver last season, catching 45 passes for 587 yards. Now that the Wildcats lost Malik Knowles and Kade Warner, two of their three top receiver from last year, Brooks was forced to step up to the plate as a main target for Howard.

This season, Brooks has totaled 437 yards off of 39 receptions with three touchdowns recorded.
